Heifers: Matured on planted pastures to reach at least 340kg at 13 months.
Heifers must calve before 27 months of age
(Minimum Simdex of 110)
Selective AI, naturally mated for 66 days from middle December.
Cows: Selective AI, naturally mated for 75 days from early January each
year, to calve before end December.
BTB Selection Criteria
Our single most important selection criteria is fertility:
Heifers must calve before 27 months of age.
(Minimum Simdex = 110)
Currently more than 85% calve before 24 months.
Cows must maintain a reproduction index (Simdex) above 100.

In future the BTB fertility selection will be more based on the Days to Calving EBV as more data becomes available.
