Inter-calving period and age-first calving are not real genetic indicators of fertility, but an indication of herd management.

BTB fertility selection is based on the true genetic indicator the "Days to Calving EBV". Strict fertility selection in effect also selects for adaptability and stayability.

The BTB Herd's DTC genetic progress benchmarked against the Breed (Negative is better.)


The BTB Herd is further selected with the true multi-trait profit selection tool, "The Simmentaler Self-Replacing Feedlot Index" ($SRF).
